[OUTLOOK] – Autocomplete Entry Not Working / Populating

Summary

When typing an email address, Outlook does not autocomplete the entry

2 main reasons why this happens:

1.    The user accidently clicked the ‘X’ next to the name, deleting the entry from the autocomplete list

2.    The Autocomplete local cache was corrupted

If the entry was deleted, it should come back with time after typing the email address a number of times.

-or-

Force it back by creating a contact and filling out the name and email address

 

If due to corruption, there are several ways to rebuild the cache:

a)    File à Options à Mail tab à Send messages à click Empty Auto-Complete List

b)    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache à delete all files starting with “Stream_Autocomplete
